2022 Nordic Seas - Day 17 Reykjavik Day 2

We’d talked about walking a few miles into downtown Reykjavik this morning, but it was another drippy 50 degree day and we slept in instead. (well, I slept in). Greg had found an important landmark about a mile from the port, so we shlepped over there to take photos.

We’re pretty sure that “Bílalúga” means either “Welcome Kathy,” or “Kathy looks like a whale,” or “Drive-thru.”

Greg continued onwards in pursuit of some caches, while I walked back along a coastal trail that led back to the ship. Everyone had to be back on board by 2:30 for our departure to Scotland. Tomorrow is a day at sea, so no blog.

This sculpture (?) was about 8 feet wide and 4 feet deep. Reminds me of an oversized hose clamp.

This women and her two children were dressed head to toe in rain gear, busily engaged in studying the detritus on the small beach.
